Needed a system to track equipment for the service department. The old system was paperbased and had many deficiencies.
As a busy service department, the application needed to provide for fast data entry while also limiting errors and the possibility of duplicate information. Multiple users would access the system at different points in a equipment repair case. Once a repair was done invoices needed to be generated and sent to the customer. They solution needed to provide automation to allow staff to be as efficient as possible. The manager needed to be able to track information securely and be able to report to management on equipment repair status, invoicing of repairs and staff utilization.
The manager of the service department purchased an early version of Filemaker Pro and created a basic tracking and service report system. He had a vision for automating as much as possible regarding the intake, tracking and return of equipment for repair.
The solution allows for very fast data entry and supports easy updates as equipment types and formats change. View a list of current equipment with existing warranties to immediately resolve issues.Generate invoices automatically for equipment as repairs were completed. Provided a dashboard of daily repairs by status. Export invoices to the accounting department for tracking of payments.
